My first book is about the latest and most futuristic advancements in aviation technology. It covers the latest technologies to be introduced into airplanes, as well as prototypes currently being built and test-flown, and also concepts being studied for the future. This was the kind of stuff that got me really excited about airplanes when I was a teenager, so I'm just trying to pay that forward :]

I wrote it for students: The objective of the book is to get younger kids (ages 10 to 16) interested in STEM in general, and in aeronautical engineering in particular... and to guide older kids (ages 17 to 22) towards the most interesting and innovative work in the industry.

The book is full of large, exciting photos of recent prototypes, and computer-generated images of concepts that have not yet flown. They all incorporate creative ideas into their design. The book describes, in simple language, the pros and cons of these design concepts: electric airplanes, solar power, blended wing bodies, flying wings, supersonic transports, scramjets, canards, electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing "flying cars", UAVs, and reusable rockets - including airplanes that can fly to space and back.

The book is called "You Could Design the Airplanes of the Future".
